Organizing the Best Birthday Bash for Your Child

I know you love your kid, but when it comes to throwing a birthday for him or her, you feel like hitting the sack. However, trust me, organizing a kid's birthday bash is not an uphill task. You just need to do things systematically, and think a bit like a young lad. Though it is not as easy as a pie, it is not too difficult. Here are a few tips that can help you. Enjoy reading.

Select the Venue

One of my friends is an event planner and he has organized many birthday parties. Whenever it comes to finalizing the venue for the bash, his first suggestion is 'your very own house'. Your house is the most inexpensive venue for the celebration; however, sometimes the space and sometimes the furniture turn out to be an issue. In that case you need to rent a nearby church hall. Moreover, if money is not a constraint, you can book a party hall or pool side in a hotel.

Make the guest list

You think your little angle is shy; she has just a few friends? Let me correct you, kids' dreams and their friends can never be counted on fingers. There will be a friend of them, whom they would have met just two days back and now they are like inseparable. So, kindly make a list of all the guests that your child wishes to have. After that, add your guests to the list. This will help you in estimating the overall cost of the event (yes, a birthday bash of a kid is nothing short of an event).

Prepare cute invitation card

The invite that you wish to send should not be formal. My friend, the one I mentioned above was once organizing two birthday parties at the same time. He could have made same invites for both the parties, but he took the kids' interests in consideration and ordered two different designs. One was a baby pink color invitation with a Disney princess sketched, while the other was having the image of strawberry shortcake (a cartoon character if you don't know). Both of them were for a girl's birthday celebration, still were different. I hope by now you must have got my point. You don't need to draw it all by yourself, you can get the printed one; just keep the taste of your little princess and prince in consideration.

Select the menu

You can't expect little kids eating green veggies and soup in a birthday party. They are kids; they deserve to have something better than perfect. Get customized cupcakes with a kitty or Mickey Mouse on the top (or any other cartoon character dotted by your kid). Candies, fruit punch, chocolate and ice creams are a must. In addition to this, in the main course you order noodles, pasta, pizza, burgers and so on. Yes, I know it is all junk food, but it's a matter of a day only. Moreover, you can ask the cooks to use olive oil and all low calorie ingredients.

The Cake

Here comes the most important part. I remember when I attendant a kid's birthday party last time, the cake was huge and very pretty (not to forget, hell delicious). It was nothing less than a gourmet served in a five star. The best part was it brought an unmatched glee in the eyes of the 5 year old birthday boy. Do I need to explain more or you know what you need to do next?

So you see, it does take time and efforts to arrange a bash for the tiny toddlers, but it's all worth the smile and happiness of your kiddo.

How To Surprise Your Kids With Some Live Entertainment

Kids love surprises. As long as the surprise is something they want to be surprised about. Most kids' lives are filled with activities and responsibilities, from school to homework to sports. Days, weeks and months can zoom by quickly without much fun things happening. Whether it is birthdays or Christmas or just a surprise to celebrate the end of school (or the beginning), it's often a bit difficult to put together a surprise and then give them something to be happily surprised about.

So here to inspire you are some surprises with live entertainment, which is something they don't often see.

Watch out for shows with figure skaters that are usually on tour in all part of the United States. Watch for skate-clad princesses and other characters coming to an arena in your area.

Taking kids to the circus doesn't always have to include the usual litany of clowns and smelly elephants. Aided by music, it would be nice to surprise the little ones with some awe-inspiring acrobatics. These type of shows almost always has some theater element to them.

Find an interactive show that is a mix of comedy, multimedia theatrics, and music. Some of the best shows are those where the kids (and adults) can be asked up on stage to participate.

Surprise them with a trip to a restaurant, but one with a action-packed theme. Have their favorite dinner along with their favorite thing to see (some action) and there cannot be much better than that.

Head to an amusement park where they have live shows, from stage plays featuring stories to dance shows with large ensembles and heavily-choreographed songs and dances. Most of the songs are set to modern, hip, trendy music, with most of the singers and dancers not all that much older than they are.

The biggest surprise of all would be a trip to see the taping of their favorite television show. While this might take making a big trip, it would be worth it if the kids are really into the television show. Tickets to the tapings of shows are always free, and getting in is relatively easy if the tickets are applied for long in advance. Sitting in on tapings is a lot like seeing a live play. They would be a part of the studio audience. As part of the audience they will get a chance to see everything that goes on that viewers at home won't get a chance to see.
